With the continuous development of science and technology and economic strength, all sorts of demand from people’s daily life is rising. In each city, it is the metro lines’roaring across the horizon that is a perfect evidence of people’s enhancing transportation experience. It is the reason that promotes our country’s railway career to develop continuously. The security system it provides is more and more perfect. The entertainment it provides passengers to enjoy is more and more comprehensive. However, at the same time, all of these also bring IT technology in subway new challenges. New technology and new function are important, but what is more important is the maintenance of the whole system.During the train’s traveling, what people see is the unlimited scenery when the subway crosses the cities’main artery, what people experience is the exhaustive station radio and video surfing in the subway. However, what hide behind the surface, at the early stage of the subway, are the technical personnel’s mental research and the maintenance personnel’s hard debug. Especially in face of the complex equipment environment, the job for maintenance personnel must be struggling. Therefore, a kind of maintenance software which is operated simply and easy to use will provide great convenience for the maintenance personnel, and avoid unnecessary hardship greatly. In a system, a train usually consists of several cars, includes tens of cards. Several software levels are involved in the cards, and multiple hardware platforms are involved in the cards’running environment. Thus it is necessary to provide a kind of tools for maintenance personnel to use. By studying the train passenger information system which has kinds of software level and hardware platform, the thesis designs a kind of software to maintain the devices in the system, and realizes to update the program from the network.This thesis first introduces the development of train passenger information system, and puts forward the practical significance of the research, then uses the composition of the actual system and the demand for the maintenance system of one project to tell the function and structure of the software. Furthermore, this thesis analyzes the realization process of each function module of the software, and introduces the development of the modules, such as searching devices, comparing versions and updating program. Finally, a series of functional tests on the maintenance software are finished to ensure the stability and reliability of the function. This maintenance software provides great convenience for the maintenance personnel of the train. It works between the application layer and the transport layer of the Ethernet and communicates with the devices on train, through encapsulating modular program, it makes the structure of the software more clear.Until now, the maintenance software has been deeply used in some subway project.
