| Suspension is one of the important component of racing-car, and a rationaldesigned suspension system can improve handling stability and ride comfort. The firstFSEC racing suspension system of Hefei University of Technology in2013is employedas an example for this research, its design parameters, simulation analysis andoptimization and structural analysis is carried out.Firstly, a formal structure of FSEC racing suspension is chosen according to thelayout of vehicles and rules, and then the main parameters of the front and rearsuspensions are designed. And geometry modeling of suspension is built using CATIAsoftware based on the results.Secondly, simulation models of front and rear suspension are built at use ofADAMS/Car, and then simulation analysis of performance parameters which affecthandling and stability such as wheel alignment parameters, roll characteristics, trackchanges of the front suspension is carried out. Then optimization is carried on largechanges parameters at use of ADAMS/Insight on the front suspension. In which, fourtires’ positioning parameters and roll center are taken as the objective functions, theframe’s high and low arm pivot point are taken as design variables, experimental designand multi-objective optimization is carried out. According to the optimized hard spotchanges, the suspension model is modified and kinematics simulation is run again, theimprove of the car’s handling and stability can be showed by the curves before and afteroptimization of the suspension model.In order to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the suspension, the staticanalysis is put on suspension at final, ANSYS is applied to do finite analysis on theFSEC Suspension uprights which contain more complex forces. Through the analysis ofcolumn under static, cornering, braking three conditions of deformation and stressnephogram, show before and after the column structure and material all meet the designrequirements.Guidance is provided at the study of results for the school FSEC racing design,manufacture and commissioning, the successful complete of the game and excellentresult prove that the design and optimization of the suspension is safe and reliable. |
