Hydraulic auto control process for water treatment plant (short for HAC) isoriginated in the development of the old water treatment plant from1980s. After30years of repeated experiments, it has realized the comprehensive reform of thetraditional water treatment process with the basic theory of reaction engineering, systems engineering, value engineering. And now HAC has been a complete new watertreatment planet. But as the new water treatment plant is developed for a too short timeand the research about the HAC is very poor, it is very necessary to do a furtherresearch and development about the HAC.This paper is written about the high-efficiency clarifier which is the core structureof HAC. The method of the research is numerical simulation. First of all, in order tostudy the flow field inside the clarifier, the paper builds a model of the clarifier withGAMBIT which is a preprocessing program. As the key point of the study in this paperis the simulation of sedimentation chamber in the clarifier, the model only includes thesecond flocculating chamber and the sedimentation chamber when this paper creates themodel. After having created the model, this paper does the numerical simulation for themodel by CFD programs such as FLUENT.As a result, this paper gets the simulationresult of the flow distribution including the streamline, the velocity and the turbulentkinetic energy. In the end this paper does a comparative study on the effects of thefender horizontal angle region flow under different flow rate in order to confirm the bestfender horizontal angle. According to the result of the result of comparison, we cantransform the clarifier. The result of the simulation show that the flow distribute can bethe best when the horizontal angle is from45degree to50degree and50degree isbetter especially. Upon the result, this paper suggests that the fender in thesedimentation chamber should be adjusted to50degree so that the water treatmentquality of the HAC can be better.
