With the rapid development of domestic automobile industry, automobile safety airbag system, as a key part of the impact of vehicle safety performance, is increasingly favored by automobile manufacturers. The core component of the airbag system is the airbag detonation assembly (detonator and metal chassis), before loading the gas generating agent needs to be sealed by plastic injection molding machine, the injection molding process of the airbag assembly is an important link in the production of safety airbag.In this paper, based on the background of practical application in a vehicle airbag injection molding factory, according to the production process and the system function requirement, design and develop the automatic injection control system to use industrial robots instead of manual operation, through the development of machine vision system realizes a robot intelligently grab metal chassis and intelligent detection of injection molding product quality. Firstly, analyses the current situation of domestic airbag injection, put forward the automatic injection control system scheme, completed the design of the overall program and the selection of hardware devices; secondly, analyses the control principle and kinematics of industrial robot, and completed the development of robot vision guidance system; finally, completed the development of control system PLC procedures, robot movement control program, product testing program and man-machine interface.At present, the system has been put into use, the practical running results show that the automatic injection control system meet the requirements of production process, improve the level of automation of the factory, at the same time, can improve the safety airbag molding production efficiency and ensure the quality of products, has good stability and practicality.
