With the rapid development of science and technology, various kinds of urban construction and large projects such as water conservancy, water and electricity, thermal power and nuclear power engineering increase rapidly. So at the time they manage to meet the requirements of higher hoisting height, heavier load capacity and wider operating radius, people make great effort on the research of lightweight crane. And facing these requirements, the truss structure, with its outstanding mechanical pRoperty, is more and more widely applied in the design of crane structure, especially of the crane booms system. Therefore, studying the optimal design of crane truss, exploring the regular patterns of crane structure, is of great significance to the lightweight and serialization crane structure design.Based on the example of a certain type of crane boom, this thesis applies the theory of Robust reliability design, and studies the optimization pRoblems. The main research includes the following aspects:According to the drawing and practical loading condition of the crane boom, the thesis established the finite element analysis model of crane boom by using APDL language of ANSYS, analyzed the dangeRous working condition on statics, obtained the stress distribution of each part of the crane boom, and checked the stability of the boom. On the basis of statics analysis, considering the random parameter of the discrete, this thesis applied the pRobability design module of ANSYS to analyze the reliability of crane boom, and then obtained the information of its reliability and sensitivity of the reliability towards design variable, set the base of later optimal design. In completing the analysis of reliability of crane boom, the thesis applied MATLAB to optimize the Robust reliability, and obtained the optimal design solution.Finally, the thesis applied this solution in turn to test the Robust reliability, and the test results showed that the solution met the basic requirements of the Robust reliability optimization, and pRoved the validity and rationality of the research method.The optimization method of this thesis pRovides certain reference value, and possesses generality in the optimal designs of mechanical structures. That is also the meaning of this study.
