| Rotor is one of the parts for vehicle knuckle assembly. When vehicle is running,caliper is working for clamping rotor by driver’s stepping on the brakes to slow down orstopped. In Dec29th,2010, CFMA vehicle trial team has stated that C307rotors has noisewhen braking and the failure rate reached to10%.Therefore, there has made some analysisfor these failure rotors and found that there has evident marks on the rotor surface. Thenthere has no noise happened once they change new rotor without marks. Taking advantageof statistics theory and in the help of Minitab software, it could be confirmed the result thatthe marks on the rotor has more influences of roughness than the one without marks. Itcould be used roughness as checking point to make analysis in overall machiningprocedure. Meanwhile, based on rotor surface machining quality as study subject, it isfounded that the influence element mainly in rotor machining surface is knife control forrotor surface fine machining, including knife life,material and cutting parameter. There arealso verifying the relative for these elements and rotor surface machining. Aiming to theinfluence, there are using DOE test method to make analysis in order to get enougheffective data and stable conclusion. Then verifying improved effect, getting the result thatknife material, life control and cutting parameter have been improved. The surface qualityprocedure ability has been improved in the right scope and control the brake surface cracksappeared. It is also proved that it is effective to study procedure ability analysis improve.Taking advantage of analysis for procedure ability and statistics analysis toconfirming main element which will influence product quality. Then making actions toimprove. This method has the advantage that it is full of method scientifically, higheffective and low cost. It could be adopted itself in the big volume of parts. Meanwhile,this method could be working for summary and prevent similar issues. |
