Great changes have taken place with rapid development of technologies in communication and information about vehicle human machine interface. Automotive user interface design is an innovative activity in order to realize the purpose of human-computer interaction and information transformation, which involves function, operation logic, interaction, application environments and relevant aesthetics, emotion and experience etc. Due to the complex design process, and abstract design knowledge, all aspects of design knowledge acquisition, expression and storage as well as the relationship between them become more and morecomplex. As a result, design knowledge becomes the focus of both vehicle human machine interface design and Computer-aided industrial Design.This paper to begin with the study of the theoretical model, involving the contents and organizational relationship of knowledge. Based on the user knowledge, Scenario knowledge and design object knowledge, regard knowledge from field studies and design practices as the basis of design, establish a user knowledge theory model, which has a fundamental role on the design knowledge description and application in the field of automotive user interface.Framework Modeling focuses on the contextual design methods research and approach and process of automotive user interface design knowledge. Based on relevant theories in Sociology, Psychology and anthropology, this part studies and analyzes contextual design process,and in order to get user knowledge, the related scenarios and their relationships, we count in the method of qualitative field research methods, finish the knowledge acquisition in the field of automotive user interface design. The study process consists two stages, which are defined as the relevant research methods respectively.The last part of thesis is the Design and Evaluation of the System, which focuses on the application of user knowledge theory model and the construction of design knowledge system.Based on the whole framework design, task function model development, technical construction of system, we built up a web-based design knowledge system:Transportation User Interface Design Knowledge System (TUI) that consists of user, design, and scenario modules, to achieve the storage and sharing of knowledge. The system has been adopted in one automotive design firm in China to demonstrate it’s Practical Value by the actual project. It is Preliminary proved by both theoretical and practical experience that a context-based TUI design knowledge system can assist in-car interactive designers in gaining a overall understanding of target users and aided conceptual design, inspiring design innovation, which help them to design user interface and interior of a truck more rapidly than before, and be of great reference for research on the other product design for Automobile. |
