How to solve the energy crisis and environmental pollution, ensure the sustainable economic and social development, has become the focus of global concern. Solar power and wind power have characteristics such as no pollution, safety, renewability and large storage. Moreover, wind power and solar power have complementary characteristics both in resource condition and technical application. Therefore, Wind and solar complementary power generation is an economic and reasonable way of power supply. In this paper, the topology, operation principle and control strategy of wind&light complementary power generation system are systematically studied. The main researches of the paper are as follows:Firstly, the research status and development tendency of Wind&Light complementary generation system both at home and abroad are summarized. The structure and operation principle of wind&light complementary generation system are studied. The mathematical models, operation principles and characteristics of wind turbine, generator, photovoltaic array and storage battery are analyzed in detail.Secondly, the common topology and control strategy of wind power generation system, the photovoltaic power generation system, conversion system and storage battery charging and discharging system are researched detailedly. The control strategy of each system and maximum power point tracking (MPPT) are deeply studied. The advantages and disadvantages of each system control strategy are also presented.Thirdly, the algorithm principles and characteristics of PWM, SPWM and SVPWM are researched. The application of SVPWM in grid connection of wind power generation system is studied emphatically.Fourthly, the grid wind power generation system based on permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) with uncontrolled bridge rectifiers plus boost chopper and virtual flux orientation based direct power control strategy, the photovoltaic power generation system with boost chopper and two-state charge method are studied systematically.At last, the simulation models of wind power generation system, photovoltaic power generation system, storage battery charging system and converter system are established under MATLAB/Simulink environment. The feasibility of the control strategies studied in this paper is verified by simulation results. Based on that, the simulation model of Wind&Light complementary generation system with wind power generation supplemented by photovoltaic generation and power storage is designed. The system control strategy is verified by theoretical analysis and simulation results.
