The rapid development of wind power industry at home and abroad, leads to the prosperity of wind power equipment manufacturing industry. As the core component of WTGS(wind turbine generator system), the gearbox is received much concern from related industries and research institution both at home and abroad. However, due to the domestic research of gearbox for wind turbine starts late, technical aspects are weak, especially in the gearbox for MW wind turbine, which mainly depend on the introduction of foreign technology. Therefore, it is urgent need to carry out independent development and research on MW wind power gearbox, and master the design and manufacturing technology to achieve the goal of localization.This paper takes the WTGS of two MW as object. Simulate and research on the gear structure and motion characteristics. Mainly to do the following:(1) According to the prototype of gearbox of WTGS, to determine structural parameters of gearbox. Using SolidWorks which is three-dimensional modeling software, to establish the physical model of gearbox and the simplified model for simulation and finite element analysis.(2) Through kinematics and dynamics analysis for rigid model of the gearbox transmission system, get the displacement, velocity, acceleration and load curves, and determine the feasibility of the model and the output load files.(3) Modal neutral file (mnf file) of low-speed shaft and output shaft generated by ANSYS, and establish their flexible body. Then, the flexible coupling model of gearbox drive system is established and simulation with different input state can be observed stress more intuitive and output-related curve.(4) ANSYS finite element analysis for the key components of the gearbox. Through modal analysis for the gear box and low-speed planetary gear, get the inherent properties, and then discuss how to avoid the resonance problem as well as the support means of gearbox. Through transient dynamic analysis for low-speed planetary gear, observe the deformation process which more in line with the actual situation.(5) Contact analysis on the planetary gear. First use conventional algorithm to theoretical analysis and calculation. Then, to carry out finite element analysis on the helical gears meshing by ANSYS, and will be compared between the two. In addition, analyze the contact parameters which affect contact stress.
