The origin of the thesis is to collage the history as well asrecreate the vitality. Although Changchun is one of the bases of heavy industry inthe northeast of China. There are a large number of industrial architectures withconservation value has been destroyed and removed on the requirements ofeconomic development within recent years. The thesis analyzed the evolution andexperience of the theory research about domestic and international industrialarchitectures’ conservation and regeneration, to which provide referenceexperience for the industrial architectures’ conservation and regeneration ofChangchun Tractor Plant. The thesis also analyzes the current situation ofindustrial architectures in Changchun to guid direction for old architectures inChangchun Tractor Plant. In the final, the thesis concludes the principle ofconservation and regeneration and gives the guidelines.The industrial building yards of Changchun Tractor Plant that have beenlong abandoned don’t have high conservation value as cultural relics, but itsestablishment, development and final recession are similar to films of industrialhistory which reflected the development of Changchun industrial condition in thespecific period. On the other hand, form the beginning,flourishing to finalrecession, the long-abandon industrial buildings also reflect the national policyand economic guideline of a country. From which the industrial building area ofChangchun Tractor Plant should have been under overall protection and thenbecome a place for people to memorize its industrial features. However, owing tothe needs of the political and economic strategies, the urge of interest, and theignorance of these industrial building yards that have been long abandoned in the initial phase, it’s almost impossible to fully conserve these industrial buildingyards. Under such circumstance, only some parts and texture of them could bekept and became the architectural fragment for people to memorize.The research focus on the rise and fall of Changchun Tractor Plant’s history,the location of the plant,the feature of the factory area planning as well as thearchitecture and greening status quo. It summarizes two-stage protection andutilization plan of the industrial architectures (divided into the first gradeprotection and the second grade protection). At the same time, it puts forwardimagine of function replacement towards the buildings that is hard to overallprotection. At the ending of the thesis, it proposes a protection and utilizationplan to rebuild the most characteristic industry architecture into communitycenter in terms of the above analysis.In the final, I hope the thesis’s research could provide reference opinions forthe reform and regeneration of the old buildings in Changchun in the future. Inaddition, it appeals the construction industry to decrease the large demolition andconstruction, and reduce the environment pollution so as to provide Changchunnatives a familiar and memorable habitat.
