Abstract/Summary:
Asphalt concrete pavement of the road has been widely used in theworld because of its good pavement performance. But as time goes on,asphalt pavement will produce a surface aging phenomenon which willlead to reduce of pavement performance or road discarded under all kindsof outside factors. Since the late1980s, building highway have enteredinto high speed development stage, while according to the asphalt roadsurface service life, most of them have entered into the phase ofmaintenance by now, so every year this action will produce large amountsof waste material. If these scrap material abandoned directly, it will wastea lot of raw materials and occupy of land resources. The existing asphaltregenerant has some defects, like less type and high price, is not suitablefor widespread adoption, so looking for a suitable cheap regenerant isimminent.At home and abroad, many experts do a lot of efforts on it andresearch out varieties of regenerant,but due to various reasons, it is notvery widely used in our country. This paper puts forward furfuralcracking oil as asphalt regenerant,which Source is simple and cheap. If itcan be used as asphalt regenerant,either on the economy or environmentalprotection, has certain research value.On behalf of the performance indicators of asphalt is numerous, butlimited by actual experimental conditions, this paper is impossible tocompare one by one.So we only selected representative indicators asresearch object: Penetration, ductility, softening point. On the obtentionof aging asphalt, It does’ t directly obtain form aging road, but throughindoor simulation aging condition, and the aging condition is15h in thinfilm oven.This experiment through three indicators compared between raw asphalt and different proportion regenerant of aging asphalt, find that thebest proportion of furfural cracking is8%. Although the best proportionof regenerant can improve the performance of asphalt aging, but stillcan’t achieve the regeneration performance. So it is necessary to addsome raw asphalt to obtain the regeneration performance. And the resultstell that when the raw asphalt is30%,the performance of recycled asphaltis similar to raw asphalt.Also the regenerated asphalt reach the road standard, but whetherit can be applied to the normal road still need further test by aging asphaltconcrete. This paper through Marshall test, rutting test and freeze-thawsplitting test to test the aging asphalt concrete, it’s easy to find out thatthe performance of aging asphalt concrete meets the relevantspecification standard and meets the requirements of concrete pavements.So furfural cracking oil has regenerative effect and it’s reasonable asasphalt regenerant. Due to its advantage of price and source whichsuggest the promotion of using.
