With the rapid development of economy in our country, the existing buildings can’tmeet the requirement of people because the change of using function and the increasingof population. Toppled the existing buildings and rebuild it will occupy land resourcemake a large amount of waste of human and material resources. So it’s a economicalchoice to make storey-adding reconstruction due it not only meet the requirement ofpeople but also can make full use of resource. After adding layer, the bearing capacity ofmany components can’t meet the requirement of design, so it’s important part toreinforce the original structure.This paper makes the current specification and reinforcing concrete reinforcementtechnique as the foundation, using PKPM software making models for the originalstructure and adding layers structure, then judge the need reinforce components, doreinforcement calculation and effect evaluation to do the strengthening design ofreinforced concrete frame structure with steel adding storey. Finally good results havebeen achieved. In this paper, the work includes the following several aspects(1)Paper introduces the development of adding storey and strengthening indomestic and overseas, commonly strengthening methods in our country and theadvantages and disadvantages of them(2)Introduce the theory and bearing capacity calculation method and the scope ofthe various reinforcement methods used in the project(3)Making reinforcement design to a reinforced concrete frame structure and set upmodels by using PKPM software to original and after adding layers structures. Thenmakes compare between internal force and the area of reinforcement to find out thereinforcement needed components.(4)According to the different component reinforcement reasons, choose thereasonable reinforcement scheme and make section calculated to the componentsthrough scheme comparison.(5)Replaced the need reinforce components by the reinforced one after stiffnessreduced and set up models to analysis again. Making comparative analysis to thechanges of axial compression ratio, shear weight ratio, stiffness, natural vibration period,maximum interstory drift and other parameters before reinforce and after to concludes the reinforcement is successful or not, then makes the overall analysis of structure afterreinforcement to evaluate the strengthening effect.At the end of the paper summarizes the influence on structure by use differentstrengthening methods, structure parameters change before reinforce and after, alsopoints out the shortages of this study and the place needs further deepen, provide areference for later of this kind of structure reinforcement engineering.
