Guangdong Province in2010issued a “greenwaynetwork in the Pearl River Delta Planning Program” is China’s first Greenway networkplanning，subsequently Chengdu、Pearl River、Beijing、Wenzhou and other cities are carryingout the planning and construction of the Greenway. Through the implementation of the recentyears, the greenway planning and construction has accumulated certain experience in thedomestic, but in general still lack of theoretical system.As a national historical and cultural city，garden city and excellent tourist city，Nanjinghas lots of landscape、history and culture, and tourism resources. Currently，the Nanjingclearly put forward to build a modern international human Green，and to build a“Happy City,Cultural City, Green City”.Therefore，taking Nanjing as an example, the layout and routeselection greenway planning method for the study,in order to provide a reference for Nanjingurban greenway planning and construction.First，this paper analyzes relevant theoretical researches domestic and overseas，andselect classic design practice cases，such as U.S. East Coast greenway、 France Loiregreenway、Pearl River Delta greenway、Chengdu Health greenway，etc. Sequentially, it makesa deep analysis and reference. Defines urban greenways definition, classification and content.Second，taking Nanjing as an example, put forward the main factors influencing the urbangreenway layout:the city location、city size、the layout of urban space、topography、historicaland cultural resources、transportation networks and etc. Third，" Ecology.、Specialization、People-oriented、Viability " as the organizing principle of urban greenways, through the determination of the overall size, to meet group needs, use of various resources, combinedwith current road layout ideas, build Nanjing urban greenways overall layout. Fourth, fromthe natural landscape resources, history and culture resources, line utilization, the line and thesurrounding environment, etc., to establish the evaluation system of greenway line selection,preliminary formed the greenway routes selected quantitative approach, by Qinhuai river-Chunxi direction the greenway as an example, demonstrate the feasibility of the method inpractice.Through this topic research, hope the preliminary construction of urban green roadlayout and route selection method, for the nanjing scientific and rational green space layoutand provide a valuable reference, to achieve "happy city, cultural city, green city" of the city’sdevelopment goals.
