And under the combined effect of human factors, the local characteristics have gradually established. The traditional rocky folk houses, which is the regional carrier of culture under such the particular natural and human geography background in the central mountain area of Shandong, enshrine a kind of value, which means local residents respect, use, and coexist harmoniously with the natural environment according to local conditions.Based on the generic research on Shandong traditional folk house, this paper is a powerful study of the traditional rocky folk houses in central mountain area of Shandong under such particular conditions, puts a lot of emphasis on the study of region in order to establish the overall comprehensive framework, and discusses the strategy to protect and heritage such regional characteristics.Firstly, this paper starts from the regional background, analyzes tangible elements, including topography, climate and resources, as well as humanitarian factors, such as history, economy, society and culture, and sketches the characteristics of distribution and residential status.Secondly, the thesis primarily summarizes the characteristics of spatial morphology of traditional settlement from three levels, which contains the selection of settlement and overall layout, the pitch-point space of street, the distinguishing features.
