With the progress of science and technology and the development of socialeconomy, the purposes of sailing are not limited to transportation or fishing, but sports, entertainment have also become the main applications. Sailing without consumingresources, polluting the environment has gained more and more attention. Sailingindustry is bound to develop rapidly, which is an important part of blue economy andthe marine culture. With the constant improvement of China’s coastal cities’infrastructure, China’s huge sailing yacht market has brought unprecedentedopportunities to the world sailing yacht industry. This subject taking Y590catamaran sailboat for example, has systematized thescattered theory and improved the efficiency of research and development. It’s acombination of ship design, ship simulation test data analysis and optimization. This paper briefly introduces the sailing yacht industry, defines Y590catamaran.The three-dimensional model of Y590catamaran sailing is built by the use of rhinosoftware (Rhino3D NURBS),which is based on the main style of modeling, designfeatures and basic dimensions ofY590catamaran.The MAXSURF software is used to design Y590catamaran hull model, analyzethe main properties of the hull, draw the line graph, hydrostatic curves and stabilitycurves and other related graphs of Y590catamaran, calculate the relevant data toensure Y590catamaran sailing work properly and safety in waves and variousfunctions.Ship model resistance tests were carried out with Y590catamaran by the use ofmicro-circulating pool. Based on the experimental data, a resistance curve of Y590catamaran was drew. The total resistance of real ships was calculated according to the Froude conversion method. Using CFD numerical simulation software FLUENT tosimulate air water two phases flow model, the basic navigation performance of Y590catamaran sailboat was obtained; by analyzing the dynamic pressure, hydrostaticpressure, moisture distribution and wave patterns of the hull at different speeds, theresistance was observe d. The simulation number and frictional resistance coefficientgot from empirical formula were compared. The characteristics of the resistanceprediction of them were analyzed. Compared the circulating pool test data with CFDsimulation data, the characteristics of both of them in terms of getting resistance wereanalyzed. Through the above work, navigational status, hull performance and theresistance of the Y590sailing catamaran sailboat can be grasped. It also provides aneffective basis for ship improvements, optimization..The sail design of Y590catamaran was completed based on sails aerodynamiccalculation model and the hull hydrodynamic calculation model. The sailing speed waspredicted by solving the sails aerodynamic and hull hydrodynamic force and momentbalance equations.ANSYS software was used to build Y590catamaran model. The proposal in thestructure was lateral loaded and boundary condition applied according to classificationsociety rule. The structure of Y590catamaran model was analyzed. By finite elementcalculation of hull structure, the structural deformation and stress distribution of. Y590catamaran sailing model was obtained.Through the above experiment, simulation data analysis, optimized design ofY590catamaran sailboat was carried out from the aspects of material, hull structureand performance. This subject conducted a series of experiments, simulation analysis of Y590catamaran by taking full advantage of computer-aided design and calculation software. Results show that the theoretical data coincides with the same type of real ship data, which can provide a theoretical method and basis for future design and manufacture ofsailing yachts.
