With the new countryside construction of socialism accelerates, the development oftownship enterprises and the continuous improvement of farmers’ living standards,agricultural electricity consumption continues to increase, the quality of rural powersupply is also put forward higher requirements, corresponding to the rural power gridload prediction model is put forward higher requirements. At present, there exist someur shortcomings on the forecasting method country rural power grid load including thelow accuracy to establish a better model, improve the prediction accuracy has becomean important task of the current power supply department.This paper analyzed the existing prediction methods, and a brief description0n thegrey prediction model was made. According to some characteristics of rural power grids,this study further using grey prediction method to forecast the regional power grid loadand got a higher prediction precision compared with the actual data, allowing them tobetter accords with the practice of rural power grid load.In the end uses the greyprediction model and linear regression method to predict the future load of power gridin rural areas.It is suggested that the power sector should closely follow up the trend ofeconomic and social development in Tongliao, as well as the condition of loadincreasing. The total electricity consumption and the load forecast should be adjustedtimely, thus ensuring that the power system infrastructure construction can meet thedemand of social developmentwith sufficient margin.
