The rebuilding project of Line Gugang in Provincial highway S270, Xinhui District, Jiangmen City involves the process of soft clay ground. According to the project’s needs, some steps were required, include design the treatment programs and compare; monitoring and inspection; evaluate the effect. Based on the characteristics of soft ground in the experimental area, this paper will make research from the following aspects:(1) To reinforce the soft soil foundation of the existing, five candidates were put forward, mainly including: the research of prestressed pipe pile, nail form both cement-soil mixing pile, Cement Fly-ash Grave pile, plastic draining board preloading or vacuum preloading methods. Furthermore, expound the above methods combining with the characteristics of soft soil in the survey region and the engineering requirement., respectively from the aspects of technology, ecomomy and environment, then analyze the rationality of using plastic draining board and preloading technique.(2) Using different classical consolidation theory equations for different states. Test and verify the rationality and applicability of the consolidation equation.(3) To discuss a more appropriate method of sedimentation calculation, this paper calculated the final settlement with several methods of sedimentation calculation, thus the post-construction settlement amount can be seen., then evaluate the effect of construction.(4) To conduct on-site monitoring and analyze the result. Additionally, make detailed researches in the vertical subsidence, horizontal displacement and the laws of variation about interstitial hydraulic pressure disappearance. Evaluate the effect of using plastic board draining method to treat soft soil foundation.(5) Examined the effect of the processing, including the plate load test and the soil sample laboratory test. According to the result of the test, evaluate the effect of construction.
