In recent years, due to the need of the economic development of our country, the transportation construction industry is developing rapidly. Bridge engineering as transportation industry occupies a large proportion. because of the high complexity and difficulty of the structure on its construction and large number of collapse accidents, the safety operation of bridge structure are more and more concerned for the majority of engineers, so the problem of health monitoring of bridge structure especially the damage identification has become an important research direction. The quantitative analysis of damage degree is the most difficulty in current research..In this paper, the research on damage identification of bending beam structure by long distance fiber bragg grating sensor based on the distributed measurement has complement. Based on the complete range damage identification, the paper through a large number of numerical simulations about analysis of local range damage, and the damage index were improved, and the quantitative calculation of local damage is realized. Through the damage identification experiment of indoor small proportion beam, it verifies the reliability of the damage quantification calculation. The most important results in this paper is the damage index improved. The index makes damage quantification more versatility and reliability in distributed measurement method, and provides new results for the bridge damage identification research. At the same time in the actual project, it provides certain reference significance for application in bridge damage identification.
