Large lake with open water surface, long waterfront and large storage capacity has connected several cities and regions is regarded as the most precious natural resources and environmental elements for cities along it in the process of formation. It was the continuation of human survival and development in the past, now it becomes the carrier which shapes urban waterfront landscape and adjusts the urban ecosystem. Since the 1990 s, China had been growing concern about landscape construction, tourism development and ecological protection, water culture in the utilization of urban waterfront and had made the preliminary practice, but for how to balance the relationships between urban artificial construction and natural ecological system is insufficient. Meanwhile, urban waterfront along large lake has relatively complex geographical environment and is unilateral by the lake, so its landscape construction is different from general urban lake’s, which needs special system research.This thesis starts from the relevant literature reviewing, analyzes the domestic and foreign outstanding urban waterfront ecological landscape design and construction practice; Clears the modern frontier foundation theories of ecological landscape construction and explores their use in the urban waterfront ecological landscape construction; researches problems Chinese large lake is facing and urban waterfront landscape construction problems is at this stage, on this basis, explores optimization goal and optimization principle; conducts field investigation, Chaohu waterfront in Hefei city ordinates the construction of new areas and natural ecosystem, analyzes its ecological construction methods and landscape effects after completion; Finally summarizes four aspects of urban waterfront along large lake and puts forward specific optimization strategies.For urban waterfront along large lake,this thesis will illustrate its landscape spatial structure with landscape ecology and divide areas with spatial relationships: the protection area around lake, far water surface area, shallow shore area, lakeside land area. The protected area and far water surface area as an important matrix of waterfront, its ecological protection and repair of the water is a precondition for ecological landscape optimization. Artificial wetland restoration and ecological revetment construction of shallow shore area are not only to ensure the safety of water conservancy, but also to firm the exchange of city and water; lakeside land area can be used for urban residents and important to improve the urban green space system. Finally, from the perspective of the humanities, within the exploiting of urban regional characteristics, we can excavate the humanity and history value of urban waterfront and promote the urban culture connotation, hope to provide scientific and comprehensive system applied to ecological landscape construction practice of urban waterfront along large lake, help to optimize the urban living environment and promote the development of ecological city, at last, create economic and ecological harmonious urban developing directions. Hoping to play a valuable role in waterfrontecological landscape construction and even in the ecological city construction of China for future.
