Understand the applied situation of different asphalt pavement by investiga ting the structure mode and the design method of oversea asphalt pavement. Through using the theory of elasticity, calculate and analyze the stress level and strain characteristics of pavement structure under the vehicle load,as well as determine the function requirements of the whole pavement and every pavement course under different loads. Mainly analyze the loading features and influencing factors of every pavement course in different pavement structure and provide theoretical basis for the material choice of every pavement course. By investigating and estimating the distributing conditions of inside temperature field of pavement structure, analyze the interior stress distribution of asphalt pavement under temperature action and the sensibility of thickness and modulus parameter of every pavement course.By the research to the technical characteristics of asphalt with high elasticity and the function of asphalt mixture with high elasticity, it may be known that adopting asphalt mixture with high elasticity can greatly improve the function of anti-reflection crack, anti-rut and anti-fatigue of asphalt pavement.Different design method is adopted and choose modified asphalt(PG70-22, PG76-22, composite modified asphalt with high modulus etc.) with different gradation type and different grade. Mainly test and evaluate the elevated temperature property(rut test and creep test with high temperature) of asphalt mixture, strength character, low temperature property and water stability(freeze-thaw splitting test, water immersion rut test) so that the asphalt mixture with less pavement deformation, longer using life of pavement and excellent property can be designed. Through the research of technical characteristics of high strength asphalt and the performance of high strength asphalt mixture, it can be known that high strength asphalt mixture has better high temperature stability, anti-rut ability and anti-split property.According to the theoretical analysis and the appraisal of asphalt mixture performance, and by combining the paved conditions of trial pavement section of Xing-Wei Expressway, analyze and summarize the construction technology and quality control gist of high strength asphalt mixture, and bring forward the effective measures that can reduce the segre gation of asphalt mixture during the construction. By means of the systemic trailing and test of the evenness, deflection and rut of the trial pavement section, the effect aroused by different structure of every trial pavement section is analyzed so that the long-term service performance is evaluated and it provides reference and basis for the construction of expressway.
