With the rapid development of China?s high-grade railways and highways, mechanized construction level of tunnel should be enhanced urgently. In the soft surrounding rock tunnel construction, one of the most important steps is that surrounding rock support, wherein the supporting steel frame is an important procedure. The main domestic means is to borrow human labor or by means of the auxiliary tool to install the steel arch, which is Waste of manpower, complicated procedures, labor-intensive, low efficiency, low coefficient of safety assurance,the use of mechanical installation vehicle mounted steel arch is not only save time, but also the installation precision is high. This paper mainly focuses on the study of the steel arch installation vehicle operation stability.First of all, this paper introduced the present situation and development tendency of the steel arch installation in domestic and international markets. Analyzing its overall structure and technical parameter and with the use of SolidWorks software, the 3D geometry model of telescopic boom had been established, which passed the interference detection to ensure the accuracy of the model.Secondly, the assembly model built of steel arch complete stress analysis and structural analysis of the overall installation of the car. First, assemble the various components to the basic arm pin center as the coordinate origin. Use Solid Works mass properties to measure various parts of the assembly quality and the distance between various parts of the center of gravity and the tipping line(short arm).Again, use the "stability coefficient method"(stability coefficient = stable torque / overturning moment ≥1.4) to study the stability of the steel arch installation vehicle operation: to find when it works in different arm lengths and different orientations, different elevation, what is the maximum load can work platform withstand. When the load on the working platform is a fixed value, different arm lengths and different elevation changes, find the safe working area. When the load on the working platform is not a fixed value, we can according to the maximum load from the situation which different arm length, different elevation, different orientations maximum load to obtain the maximum thrust of the pitch cylinder, from limiting the pitch cylinder thrust to prevent tipping, and pitch cylinder thrust can be measured by the force sensor.Finally, by researching the outrigger devices to study the stability of the steel arch install car. In the legs, the automatic leveling device, leg retraction self-locking device and torque limiter are installed, which can effectively prevent tipping; When driving and parking at the ramp operations, we can limit the slope and ground friction coefficient to study branch the stability of the legs of the vehicle body.
