| Semi-arid area is the area which annual rainfall between 250—500mm, semi-arid area due away from the ocean,deep in the interior,with less annual rainfall. The east-central of Inner Mongolia belong to semi-arid areas cold in winter and the saline of soil, plants that can adapt to the environment are too less,made it difficulty to planting configuration.In small towns,the economic developmented slowly,the consciousness of greening is not strong,and lack of scientific and reasonable planning,the road green space has such problems as the plant configuration is too single. So,explore the plant configuration in small towns in semi-arid areas is significance to the greening to this regionThis study take Maqiao road, Fengchuan road, Yingbin road, Xinhua road,Yingbin street, river east road,the park west road, west street,Huancheng north road as example, On the basis of theoretical study, by investigating the road sections, the road green belt type, plant species, community configuration plan, plant growth, plant maintenance management conditions such as draw xinfeng, advantages and problems of road greenbelt plant configuration.Fengzhen city road green plant configuration has the advantage of plant configuration vertical structure is reasonableXinfeng city road green plant configuration problems are:1. Road greenbelt plant configuration resources are uneven distribution;2. Lack of road greenbelt plant the seasonal landscape;3.Plants ornamental characteristics not rich;4. Road plant configuration mode of a single, lack of features;5.plant community structure is unreasonable, proportion and shrubs not harmonious;6.Part of the tree species can not adapt to the environment growth, plant growth situation is poorer;7.The municipal environment complex, plant configuration lack comprehensive consideration;8.The late maintenance and management work does not reach.Put forward the suitable for Inner Mongolia semi-arid areas of green land in small towns of plant configuration countermeasures as follows:1.
