Energy is the material basis of human society. And wind power is a kind of renewable, clean and green energy, which occupies the important strategic position in energy area. How to maximize the use of wind power and guarantee the wind turbine stable and reliable running is an important issue in the research of scholars at home and abroad. This thesis researched on yaw control system, which is the most key link of wind turbine, and designed wind turbine yaw control system with HCC control algorithm based on power detection using AVR microprocessor.First, we studied wind power principle and wind turbine composition, especially the function, principle and composition of yaw control system. Second, we proposed the operational control strategy capturing the maximum wind energy and the HCC control algorithm based on power detection by researching on wind power calculation, wind speed model and power characteristics of wind turbine.We also studied the power detection and algorithm parameters. Third, we analyzed the functional requirement, working environment and safety requirement of yaw control system, designing the hardware circuit and software process of yaw control system. Finally, the simulation-testing to the system was made in MATLAB environment. The simulated results verified the feasibility and accuracy of the designed system.
