With the car toward the direction of high use performance, the transmission needed to meet the high stability, low vibration, low noise and short design cycle etc, but the traditional design of transmission gear had depended on the experience and could not meet the requirements of its current design methods. In this paper, taking into account smooth transmission, the gear optimization model were studied, and through the optimization of the parameters analyzed and compared to verify the feasibility of CAD and CAE to design gear.Through coordinate transformation, to establish involute helical surface mathematical model, the model parameters were analyzed and as the basic to establish the gear parameters model. In order to study the gear mount "interference" problem, by studying the tooth profile basic meshing law to deduce gear pair meshing line equation and established taking into gear assembly errors mathematical model. To analyse and calculate established gear model in Matlab software, compared gear assembly before and after situation, the mathematical model of established gear pairs was valid.On the basis of ANSYS parameter language and involute helical surface equation, this paper established a precise model of involute helical gears. To further study gear pair assembly problems under three-dimensional modeling in ANSYS software, by parameter language, established 3D assembly models of the gear pair, compared this model and the gear pair mathematical model, the effectiveness of the gear pair assembly model was verified. In order to analyze the performance of gear,the paper had studied the loaded boundary conditions of Gears 3D assembly model, established the gear finite element contact model in ANSYS.Dynamic meshing of gear pair was nonlinear contact problems, on the basis of the gear pair finite element contact model, the paper on the corner-10 ° ~ 10 ° when the model was studied, and the results showed that the gear tooth contact area had fluctuated with changes in the corner, and at a certain angle, the contact area had appeared mutation, smooth transmission gear pair were worst. On the basis of the gear pair finite element contact model, taking into account driving stability as optimize objective, optimization model of a gear pair was established. In ANSYS and Matlab software, using orthogonal experimental design and genetic algorithm to solve optimization model, optimization results were analyzed and compared, effectiveness of the gear pair optimization model was verified,and further indicated that in ANSYS and Matlab software, CAD and CAE to design gear was feasible.
