In recent years,seismic damage to bridges happened in china frequently, the personnel casualty and the economic loss is very serious for the failure of piers. Therefore,It has important engineering significance to study on the seismic behavior of hollow piers.In order to study the limit state of bridge piers, to research the influence of different parameters to the displacement response of seismic action limit state of piers, basing on capacity spectrum method of structural seismic design, taking the displacement as the main index. The main research work is as follows:(1) Put forward the reasonable analysis of single pier pier in the level of performance and performance limit state, with the comparison of partition methods for structural seismic performance level under various countries;(2) Establish reasonable rectangular hollow single pier, selectappropriate constitutive relation model of materials, section division methods and element, according to the different performance requirements and analysis methods. Try to make the analyze results closer to the actual engineering situation; Compare the hysteretic curves and skeleton curves betweenthe numerical model of bridge piersand the experiment, using the low cyclic loading displacement control method;(3) Control rectangular hollow pier model of nonlinear pushover process in the one-way displacement incremental mode, record the base shear changes in displacement excitation model. After the calculation, displacement data columns get the spectrum displacement Sdand shear data columns get spectral acceleration Sa. Build capacity curve with Sd for the X axis, Sa for the Y axis;Conduct acceleration-cycle spectrum transformation for the peak acceleration of 6 seismic waves,according to the rule of bridge pier seismic canonical correlation formula and get the calculated displacement spectrum. Then, establish the demand curve of hollow piermodels;(4) Determine the point of intersection between the capacity spectrum of 10 pier column models and the demand spectrum of every design earthquake wave. Determine the limit state of pier displacement level with the performance poin. The spectrum displacement in intersectionpoint correspond values of displacement. That is determining target displacement of pier limit levels; Compare the effects of different factors on the bearing capacity of piers and the limit displacement.Research shows that,the structure analysis is on the safe sidebased on capacity spectrum method. The seismic performance of hollow rectangular reinforced concrete bridge piers is good, different characteristic parameters make different influence to the bearing capacityand the limit displacement.
