After referring to a number of domestic and foreign literatures, ADINA finite element software was used to build finite element models that were identical to the tests. The analysis results were consistent with the test results, which was suggested that ADINA finite element software was completely fit for researching the collapse performance of steel frame-steel plate shear wall with slits.In this study, single story steel frame-steel plate shear wall with slits models were built by ADINA finite element software. Under the action of reciprocation force, effects of different parameters on the mechanical characters of the model were studied, and then the model with the best properties was obtained. Different axial compression ratios were applied to single story steel frame model and single story steel frame-steel plate shear wall with slits model, and hysteresis curves under reciprocal force were extracted afterwards. The results showed that steel structure members had the merits of good energy consumption property. As the increase of structure of axial compression ratios, the hysteresis curves became not full,and yield load, yield displacement, and failure load degraded seriously.Moreover, a ten story steel frame model and ten story steel frame-steel plate shear wall with slits model were built on the basis of ADINA finite element software, and the nonlinear analysis method was carried out to analyze the earthquake hazard of the two kinds of ten layer model under frequently occurred and seldom occurred earthquake. The results showed that earthquake hazard was not only correlated with the peak of seismic wave and duration,but also influenced by the seismic waveform. Under the same earthquake action, the weak part of ten story steel frame-steel plate shear wall with slits model was higher than the ten story steel frame model. The accelerated speed and displacement response under seldom occurred earthquake were five times as quick as those under frequently occurred earthquake.Under the different earthquake actions, seldom occurred earthquake caused a stronger earthquake hazard than frequent earthquake on both the frame model and steel frame-steel plate shear wall with slits model, but the weak parts of them were the same as each other.The structure was not collapsed under the rare earthquake of magnitude of 8 and 9.
