With the applications of steel structure residential housing become more widespread in our country, especially high-rise steel residential housing everywhere, perfabricated steel plate shear wall structure as a structural system with good lateral force resistance,being applied to steel housing system increasingly, however, the connecting structures of the fabricated steel plate shear wall and steel frame beam become a major problem. The traditional connecting structures such as bolt connections due to its high hole-precision^ noise, single fish plates connection steel plate shear walls proneing out of plane instability,can not meet the requirements of engineering application. Therefore, the development of a new connecting structures of prefabricated steel plate shear walls and steel frame beam is particularly urgent.In this paper, it summarizes the research status of steel plate shear wall domestic and overseas, analysises the advantages and disadvantages of existing connections of fabricated steel plate shear wall and steel frame beam, based on the defect of the existing connections, a new connecting structure is proposed that the double fish plate connection.Based on experimental study,connections were studied under monotonic loading and cyclic loading to the mechanical performance and failure mechanism and to propose proper design methods. The main content of this paper carried out as follows:The eight specimens in all were designed and made under monotonic loading and cyclic loading.The number of the same specimens is two in order to ensure the accuracy of test data. Hence, experiment are conducted to investigate the bearing capacity, hysteretic behavior rigidity degeneration, ductility, energy dissipation coefficient,and failure mode of the new connection.From the monotonic loading load-displacement curve we can be see, elastic stage, elastic-plastic stage, failure stage were showed up clearly. The yield bearing capacity of double fish plate connection is higher than single fish plate connection's about 10.9%.It shows that mechanical properties of double fish plate connection superior to the single fish plate connection.Under cyclic loading, The unlimited bearing capacity of double fish plate connection is higher than single fish plate connection's about 15.67%, the deformation of out of piane that steel plate shear wall using double fish plate connection is smaller relatively, stiffness degradation of ordinary single fish plate connection is more obvious. This reflects the binding effect on steel plate shear wall that using double fish plate connection is stronger, having better cooperative performance between them.The ductility, energy dissipation, equivalent viscous damping of double fish plate connection superior to the single fish plate connection's, and its hysteretic curve is fuller.It explains the energy dissipation ability, ductility of double fish plate connection is better.Finally, the experimental results are summarized to provide reasonable designing advises for designers and engineers in the projects.
