Research On Safety Of Towing Rig In Ice Zone Of Bo Hai Bay

There is no rig towing operations in Bohai Bay in the winter, the Bohai Bay ice age lasts from the mid of December to the mid of February of the next year.Ice Age lasts 2-4 months, it has a great impact on the production of the drilling platforms. If drilling platform is capable of towing operations in ice water of Bohai Bay, it will have a huge influence on the drilling platform production.This paper selects the tugboat which named Binhai 286/287 and the drilling platform which named Bohai 10th to take double tugboat towing cable way to establish the drilling platform towing system model in the ice water of Bohai bay. Through theoretical mathematical calculations to determine the Bohai Bay Ice towing jobs theoretical feasibility. Joining the icebreaking resistance into the resistance calculation of the drilling platform towing system model, we can get the calculation model of the drilling platform towing system model in the ice water of Bohai bay. In accordance with the actual horsepower of the tugboat, we can get the maximum of the drag force the tugboat can provide. Compare the drag force and the total resistance of the drilling platform towing system model, we can get the maximun thickness of the ice which the towing model can break and the range of the speed the model can reach.Through the analysis the feasibility of the towing of the drilling platform in the ice water and the influence of the ice to the towing, we can come up with the security measures to drilling platform towing in the ice water of Bohai bay.
