Her landscape works related with innovative design in materials and colors reflect the impact of installation art in his design thinking. In recent years, installation art has been becoming a new kind of expression of landscape design and creating close ties with landscape design.As the intellectual, cultural and spiritual heritage, university campus has its own unique school culture and academic atmosphere. The university campus landscape mainly services for young students with the characte ristic of energy and fashion. By applying installation art to the campus landscape design, we can enrich the campus landscape design style and guide students in aesthetics. As the representative of young and energetic, university students prefer and easy to accept these art forms in line with the times, such as “installation art”. Combination between installation art and campus landscape design make the university campus landscape full of new vigor and vitality.First of all, this paper try to understand the definition, history, characteristics, development and applications in landscape design of installation art through the theories and provide feasibility support for application installation art into campus landscape design. Secondly, define the scope of the campus landscape installation, re- integrate the art performance and design principles of applying installation into landscape design in the university campus and analysis and research how installation art works in campus landscape design more comprehensive and more targeted. Thirdly, interpret the classic case from various angles, present installation art’s unique role in campus landscape design and inject new vitality into campus landscape by analyzing and researching some works of installation art or landscape works combined with installation art.Finally, apply the design practice and techniques into practice. Prove the impressive effect of applying installation art into the university campus landscape design through the landscape installation design of Beijing Polytechnic.
