As the world’s largest population country, the industrial economy science and technology are continuous developing in our country. More and more consumer bye the car, the cars has become an important means of transport, the vehicle passive safety research has become a hot research topic. Europe and The United States and other developed countries formulate vehicle safety regulations. The research in progress with the real vehicle collision, they invented the simulation technology of automobile collision to replace part of the real vehicle crash test. Therefore, the finite element is a promising subject. This paper mainly studies side collision of the domestic SUV, then improve the structure based on the results. Because the differences of Europeans and Asians, I preference the European Automobile Side Collision Regulations ECE R95 and Chinese Automobile Side Collision Regulations GB20071-2006, and China-New Car Assessment Program to research our project. Using the Hyper Mesh to work on geometry cleanup, the grid division, contact set. Using the LS-DYNA to worked out the side collision finite element model.Analyses the simulation result of the collision, Using the energy curve to judge the validity of the model. After the body deformation, stress, door intrusion volume data, then the design and implementation of the optimization is described in detail.Combine with occupant restraint system, then do simulation of collision again.Analyses the occupant injury assessment of head, chest, abdomen, thigh and so on, to judge the rationality of optimization scheme. Considering the comprehensive, In the final, this paper provides analysis on the improved model of rear end collision simulation results, further confirm the rationality of the improved scheme.
