Pile-plank subgrade is a kind of subgrade structures with high strength, high stability, ride comfort and durability, leading to track deformation, accumulated deformation slowly, etc. So it is in favor of high-speed driving, reducing the maintenance and repair work, improving the working conditions and solving the problem of subgrade settlement. Pile-plank subgrade has been widely used on ballastless track, but it is the first application on ballasted track. This paper, considering the lack of of research and design data about service performance and mechanics characteristic, adopted theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, software development, etc.based on the background of the new 2nd Liu-Zhan interval of the Guiyang-Kunming railway. It made a summary about theoretical analysis, load-bearing characteristics, design optimization and the use of performance, which is a reference for future research and design. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) This paper proposed a pile-plank plane frame structure and the elastic support piles mode by analysising the design load of piles and investigating design theory.(2) The three-dimension simulation model was applied to analyze the forces on all parts of pile-plank structure. Through comparing with the theoretical calculation verified the theoretical analysis for the design of safety guarantee.(3) The influence of main factors on pile-board structure was analyzed to provide important basis for structural optimization.(4) According to the related theories proposed by this paper, the Pascal language was applied to compile the pile-plank structure calculation software, and the pile-board structure calculation and reinforcement design of the new 2nd Liu-Zhan interval of the Guiyang-Kunming railway was proceeded.(5) This paper made a summary of the theoretical calculation, mechanical properties, design optimization and service performance of pile-plank structure for the research and design in the future as reference through the analysis of ballastless track and ballasted track.
