Because of the smooth transmission and high strength at the intersection of the shaft drive, spiral bevel gear is widely used in machine tools,aircraft engines,construction machinery and other industrial products.With the development of machine industry and increasingly fierce competition in the international market,there has been stricter demands for the precision of spiral bevel gear,which is an important basic component for mechanical transmission.It is the basic method of gear quality inspection to get tooth surface error through measuring tooth surface of spiral bevel gear.Therefore,the spiral bevel gear measuring software development used in gear measurement system is very important. And the first task of software development is tooth surface modeling and grid dividing,then the measurement points were got.The main achievements are as follows:(1)Through studying different processing methods of spiral bevel gear and unifying models of different machines,the neutral machine model was established.(2)The equations of the tooth surfaces were derived from the cutter blade surface equations with the neutral machine model.(3)Divide grids with the gear measurement standard from tooth surface equations,while the algorithm was verified by MATLAB.(4)Use C++ to develop the software which can get the required grid point of tooth surface for measuring through inputting gear parameters.The key point of the subject lies in the establishment of neutral machine model which contains analyzing different processing methods,calculating the corresponding interface parameters and unifying the model.With the model,mesh the tooth surface to meet the measurement standard of spiral bevel gear and get radius vectors and normal vectors of every dividing points by the software,laying a solid foundation for the next measuring process.
