Spiral bevel gear is the transmission fundamental element. Its space and the machining technology are very complicated. The aquire for high-precision processing of this type gear is more and more higher with the rapid development of industrialization. Because of the machine adjustment parameter errors, machine's own manufacturing error , heat deformation and so on, the surface machining errors is inevitable. The machine tool'adjusting is in accordance with the nominal adjust parameters in the processing. So, the method of compensating the machine adjustment parameters for correcting the surface errors is entirely feasible. Therefore, according to the processing and the principle of spiral bevel gear, the tooth surface mathematical modeling, three-dimensional geometric modeling and error correction technology are reseached in this paper. The concrete contents are as follows:1. Based on the proceing, the gear meshing theory and movements of tools, the equation of theoretical tooth bearing is established. It lays the theoretical foundation for geometric modeling and error analysis.2. The tool equation including transition fillet is established, and the fillet equation is derived. The datas on the fillet surface can be calculated effectively and quickly within MATLAB procedures. Considering the boundary conditons of round billet, The 3-D model of spiral bevel gear are established in Pro/E after datas are input, which provid the basis condition for the finite element analysis of tooth root bending stress.3. Based on the gear meshing theory, the equations of theoretical and error surfaces are established, the analytical expression of tooth surface processing errors caused by the machine adjustment parameter errors is derived, and the concept of error influence coefficient is proposed, and the impact of surface errors caused by machine adjustment parameter errors can be obtained according to the error influence coefficient. Through comparing of theoretical and error surface, The effect law of tooth surface node normal errors and the whole tooth surface normal errors are determined. The major impact of the machine adjustment parameter errors are determined by the analytical and numerical method. The content and methods of this research provide theoretical basis and practical guidance to compensate the machine adjustment errors for the spiral bevel gears surface errors.4. The correcting method of least parameters is proposed after The major impact of the machine adjustment parameters for errors are determined. The relationship between the machine adjustment parameters' changes and tooth surface normal errors are determined. The correction of machine adjustment parameters are calculated by using the sequential quadratic programming method. The correct method in paper can effectively reduce the tooth surface error by calculating simulating and experimental verification.
