| Oil-fired station like thermal power station or nuclear power station, which needs water acts as cold source to cool heat engine and satisfies the cooling needs of various units. According to water use and characteristics, rational design and layout of the corresponding water engineering facilities are water intake project design and planning of key guarantee. Water intake engineering is divided into two types in general, one is dam water taken engineering, the other is dam-less water taken engineering. Between the two, dam-less water taken engineering invests less and has less effect on river channel and surrounding environment. However, limited by the river boundary conditions, water guarantee rate is difficult to meet the requirements. So, dam-less water outlet location selection is dam-less diversion project key to success or failure. For non-dam water intake location choose a variety of considerations, there are a variety of research and analysis methods, It is commonly used in data channel evolution arbitrage analysis and model test method. Since the power plant water diversion project on the guaranteed rate is demanding, in order to ensure foolproof, most of them using model test method than the water intake location option argument.In this paper, Salah Al-din oil fired power plant of Iraq water project for the study, by the method of the engineering model test diversion dam water intake location selection were studied. Firstly, where the reach of the proposed water project under different flow conditions evolve river sedimentation characteristics, potential changes in river and water elements characteristic features typical section of conduct observation and analysis, preliminary master the general rule of the evolution of the river bed. Secondly, the original design of the rationality and feasibility of the outlet locations selected were demonstrated, the results showed that the original design of the water intake location close vicinity affect its upstream river island evolution and other unfavorable factors should not be used. Third, by further experimental observation and analysis, proposed two options for the location of the water intake unit used for design, the last comprehensive variety of factors to consider making a final recommendation as a project implementation plan adopted. In order to explore longer reach the water intake location than the election of new methods and approaches, this paper also uses a two-dimensional numerical simulation of the project where the river flow field analysis and calculation, and the results of the analysis were compared with the experimental results, the part of the work on the simple use flow field analysis to determine the location of the water intake similar projects are meaningful. |
