Research On Planning Of Urban Regional Transportation Freight Station

Chongqing is the 4th municipality in China. It is the economic center and financial center in the upper reaches of Yangtze River. The economic development and urbanization of this city are accelerating. According to the construction plan of five functional areas for Chongqing city, the local regional areas are developing with their specific functions. Nan’an County as one of the central area of Chongqing City, is the core area and expanding area for realizing city function. Logistics centers, integrated hub and economic center are the county’s futures and it depends on the transportation. Road freight is an important part of transportation industry. The development of road transportation is significant for the construction of functional areas.Road freight refers to the delivery mode by road. The characteristics include flexible, wide coverage and so on. Through analyzing the relationships of road freight stations, road transport and logistics, the key issues of road freight station planning were identified.Nan’an County was taken as a case study. The existing road freight facilities were analyzed and the problems were found. They are unreasonable layout, poor management, simple operating conditions, and inadequate facilities and so on, which leads the road freight station of Nan’an County having less effect on the development of transportation. It is harmful for logistics and transportation industry of Nan’an County.Based on the key issues of road freight station planning, using statistical data of Nan’an County, the cargo, freight volume, cargo terminal area, population and traffic flow in road freight station planning were forecasted by linear regression.With the road network and industrial distribution planning of Nan’an County, the layout and function of freight station for Nan’an County were studied and the road freight station planning was determined.Then the effects of road freight station planning on road transport and logistics development were analyzed by the empirical research of freight station planning for Nan’an County.
