Earthquakes are one of the devastating natural disaster, the event will cause a lot of casualties and property losses. In recent years, The earthquake is magnitude bigger,more casualties, loss of weight in western region of our country. In addition, the mountainous region are more complex topography, building a lot of infrastructure will encounter a wide variety of slope in western of our country. Therefore, the study of earthquake and seismic has important theoretical and practical significance in geotechnical engineering.In this paper, mudstone slope is the background in Toutang Primary School in Jiangbei District, according to the actual situation of the slope, the use of Midas / GTS finite element software for seismic response characteristics and seismic performance of mudstone slope analyzed main contents are summarized as follows :① To investigate the failure mechanism and seismic loads seismic characteristics,dynamic response analysis of the factors affecting the slope to provide a theoretical basis for the establishment of mudstone slope model.② With the example of Jiangbei mudstone slope, the use of finite element analysis at different intensity earthquake, mudstone slope dynamic response analysis, drawn mudstone slope displacement, maximum shear strain change with cloud time to analyze the various monitoring points the value of displacement, provide a reference for the seismic design of slope.③ In the same seismic loads of different slope angles, different seismic performance of mudstone slope friction angle to simulate changes in their analysis of different conditions of maximum shear strain and displacement of most value for the slope of security designed to provide reference.④ In this paper, seismic load when the input from different angles in the horizontal direction, the slope of the dynamic response of the numerical simulation and the best value for the slope displacement different monitoring points were analyzed. The results show that different horizontal angle seismic input dynamic instability of the slope was significantly different, in most cases, the input to the slopes along the horizontal and vertical direction seismic loads on the dynamic instability of the slope the greatest impact.⑤ Based on the analysis of a large number of calculations, we propose someimprove seismic performance of mudstone slope constructive comments, providing a reference for similar engineering or design.
