A Comparative Study Of Architecture Color Design Between The Old And New University Campuses

With the advent of the era of new economy, the rapid development of China’s higher education, the number of new students each year into the university is far beyond the capacity of the original school. So the resources of college teaching become scarce, the enrollment expansion of colleges and universities in order to resist the trend spread.That is why the university construction problem is imminent.In virtue of this situation, almost all the colleges and universities are faced with the new task of consolidation,expansion, rebuilding and relocation.So the new development characteristics are formed in the course of planning and construction, where the old and new campus construction are for the new challenges.Campus is not only a physical space surrounded by the construction entity, it can also reflect the cultural value and connotation of some teaching;In addition,it should increase the social interaction, enhance students’ identity of their Alma mater with its own special features. We can notice that the campus construction is likely to have a subtle influence on students.For a long-established campus, it has outstanding historical culture accumulated centuries, itself that symbolize a kind of academic spirit and traditional city is the inheritance of historical context. This context cannot be interrupted neither rebuilding nor new expansion, otherwise everything new will lose the soul that is difficult to restore.Currently, more and more universities notice this, and begin to emphasize their own cultural characteristics or unique design concept, but overall still exist some colleges and universities blindly pursue progress or innovation, ignore old school district culture, construction process, lead to the destruction of old schools’ historical culture accumulated centuries, and the large convergence of new campus, being nothing special.It is an an extremely complex problems to be solved that how to maintain the formed place of spirit,to continue its old inheritanced culture,to make them have the same soul between the nem and old campus in the process of construction at present.The colour is the most directly effective means to building construction environment wh en the campus buildings need to carry the history, beare the culture context, convey the place of spirit. This paper from the viewing angle of "building color", discusses the building color s election and application between old and new campus, associated with cultural relations between the old and new campus. Paper ueses analysis, comparative research methods,based on th e current problems existing in the university architecture color planning design, combining wi th the building color design of the old and new campus of Shandong Normal University. First,thepaper summarizes the principles and methods of college architecture color design,through the study of color and the relevant theories of architecture design. Then, the paper conductes in-depth research and discussion on the architecture color application of the old and new cam pus of Shandong Normal University under the guidance, find out problems through detailed a nalysis and comparison, and proposes transformation plan. Finally, through the summary and analysis of the above case study, the paper successfully teases out specific methods of color d esign of the old and new campus architecture, and puts forward some suggestions about the co lor design of the old and new campus construction in colleges and universities in the future.Through this topic research, author teases out the theory method and practice operation mode about color design of universities construction comprehensively and systematicly, and s ummarizes a set of feasible theoretical model.
