In order to refine the accuracy and reliability of the seismic response analysis of huge building structures, this paper apply the concept of multi-scale to hybrid simulation systems and build a model of seismic hybrid simulation with multi-scale finite element analysis. The model which was consisted of experimental elements, microscopic numerical elements and macroscopic numerical elements simulate the different partial of whole structure reasonably. By linking the three types of elements, the collaborative analysis of the huge building structures were conducted accurately. The detail studies on seismic hybrid simulation with multi-scale finite element analysis are as follows:(1) Seismic hybrid simulation with multi-scale finite element analysis was proposed with the scale separation and coupling. The configuration of experiment platform was introduced by the presentation of OpenFresco, finite element software selection and experimental control system.(2) In order to choose the above elements reasonably, methods were proposed based on structural damage principle. Both empirical method and simulation method should be considered to select experimental elements, microscopic numerical elements and macroscopic numerical elements for huge building structures.(3) The coupling of different scale elements is an important part of seismic hybrid simulation with multi-scale finite element analysis. With the study of different elements features, this paper use multi-point constraint method to coordinate experimental elements and numerical elements in different scale. In order to connect ABAQUS and MTS experimental control system, the subroutine and system related settings were described with OpenFresco system. Considering complex boundary conditions of experimental element, this paper shrink the DOF of experimental element boundary.(4) The analysis results compared between a hybrid model and whole FEA model demonstrated that multi-point constraint method applied to the boundary of experimental element and numerical element satisfies the requirement of structure seismic test and can be used in seismic hybrid simulation with multi-scale finite element analysis, even the real-time simulation.
