To develop the energy conservation and environmental protection industries and promote energy efficient products is the main policy of the country. Amorphous alloy core distribution transformer is one of the important equipment preferred energy efficient and environmentally friendly power distribution system. While the manufacturers ensure the reliable operation of the transformers, they are always pursuing the lowest cost. Searching for the optimal solution of engineering cost is the key task of transformer designing. At present, the skills of amorphous alloy core transformers have faults of high cost, low efficiency and long time of designing. The technology development is limited. So it is necessary to study the above problems.The amorphous alloy core distribution transformer of energy conservation appear relatively late, so compared with the ordinary transformer, its advantage has not gotten more attention and further research. This paper aims to the optimal design and improvement of the amorphous alloy core distribution transformer of energy conservation on many aspects, such as design, production, manufacture and process. The main finished work is as follows:1. Through calculation and analysis between amorphous alloy core distribution transformer of energy efficiency level 2 and normal oil-immersed distribution transformer of energy efficiency level 3, the cost of consumption of these transformers has been compared. The theory basis for choosing transformer type has been provided for the majority of users.2. While the amorphous alloy transformer core and coil is rectangular structure characteristics, equivalent and energy methods have been adopted to calculate the short circuit impedance of amorphous alloy core transformer. The equivalent method has been applied to transformer electromagnetic calculation. For the diameter of circular iron core is related to the capacity, calculating empirical formula has been given by relation derivation between the thickness of amorphous alloy core and the capacity.3. The principle of electromagnetic design of amorphous alloy core distribution transformer of energy conservation have been introduced and analyzed. When the design process of transformer adds constraint conditions and the optimization electromagnetic design is calculated in the MathCAD software, the optimal solution has been found. As soon as the calculation results of the key data input parameters to EXCEL software, the calculation sheet has been generated. The parametric design of data structure has been finished by adding the graphics and programming.4. From the perspective of energy and material saving and the efficiency improving, the manufacturing process of amorphous alloy transformer has been improved, such as the design of coil adjustable die, tooling equipment, which make the improving production efficiency of the foil type, cylindrical coil winding and transformer body assembly improved. The production manufacturing cost optimization has been realized.
