In today’s information society, with the development and innovation of computer technology, automatic control technology and communication technology, people’s demands for smart gas meter is increasingly high, and therefore as the smart gas meter manufacturers, improving the production quality and production efficiency is imperative. The quality of the gas meter depends on the quality of each component, only in the case of each component are under good conditions, the gas meter that meets the user’s needs can be made. The core components of a gas meter include LCD, valves, wireless module and IC card. The detection device was designed for only one component previously, even if different types of one component have different detection devices. For example, the LCD has different types. Each type corresponds to one device. The device should be re-change after the detection of different models. It is waste of time and manpower, as well as greatly reduce of working efficiency.In view of this situation, and conform to the requirements of my internship company, this paper design an automated detection system which can improve the efficiency of the detection. Every module is integrated in one device. And in this way, can greatly improve the work efficiency, reduce the intensity of the work and also saving lots of cost for the company. The main work and results are as follows:1. Firstly, analyzing the current situation, a workable scheme is designed, and then make the overall system planning.2. In the system hardware development, the main control circuit and the detection circuit for automated inspection system are designed, including the design of LCD detection module circuit, valve test module circuit, IC card detection module circuit and wireless detection module circuit.3. In the system software development, the basic functions of each module are achieved. And the overall function of each module independently of each detection.4. The functional testing of the system is made, and the result show that the system achieves the expected goals and meets the requirements of the company.Finally, summarizing the design, and raising prospects for further research.
