Since the advent of intelligent home appliances, there has been a hot market after about ten years of development, which is nurtured basically by the radical change in home appliances. The first phase of their development did not witness a wide application of them because of their PC-based system construction. Now mobile appliances have become the mainstream terminals, and with the quick access of intelligent mobile phones comes the most practical model of usage for intelligent home appliances. In some sense, it is the popularity of intelligent mobile phones that has triggered off the intelligent home appliances market.The hot market, however, has exposed the weaknesses of the intelligent home appliances system in earlier phrases. The major problem with such a system is that the businesses and research institutions involved have not done adequate work that may lead to a uniform standard for running an intelligent system. This problem has resulted in the diverse home appliances systems running independently without any connection. Besides, the key parts of these systems are not replaceable, so when something goes wrong, no spare parts can be used but those made by the system providers.. Worse still, there must be sometimes more than one APP installed on the mobile terminals to control respectively different home appliances.This thesis, based on distribution calculation theories, attaches great importance to the interface definition language (IDL), and the intelligent appliances IDL (IAIDL) as applied to the information home appliances which are involved in the intelligent appliances system. It is also pointed out that the providers of information home appliances to be linked to the intelligent appliances system should supply IAIDL descriptive documents in compliance with a uniform criterion. The uniformity of this criterion has a direct impact on the regulation of the criteria for intelligent appliances systems. This paper not only enhances the concept of IAIDL, it also gives a specific sample of IAIDL descriptive documents. Because of XML’s merits in expressing structured data, this sample is written using XML.On the basis of IAIDL, this thesis also investigates the architecture of intelligent home gateway functioning as the core of the intelligent appliances system, and illustrates the work process running between the info-appliances and the home gateway, giving particularly how the home gateway is implemented in lab environment. As for the IAIDL descriptive documents, this paper elaborates on how to decompose these documents and to arrive at data sheets to be saved in the home gateway’s embedded data bank, ready for the visits of terminal softwares. It is argued that the embedded home gateway is a growing trend for tomorrow’s home gateways.As in IPV4 environment it is necessary for Andoid APPs to travel through a WEB server to have long-distance access to info-appliances’messages stored in home gate data bank, this paper discusses the development environment for Android APPs, and the way to realize the model of long-distance access to info-appliances data banks. It also explores the method of performing long-distance visits to the data banks based on Web Service techniques. |
