Polycarboxylates is after ordinary water reducer represented by the calcium lignosulphonate and superplasticizer is represented by naphthalene superplasticizer developed the third generation superplasticizer, it has a high water reduction, high slump resistance and the advantages of green. However, China is still based superplasticizer market on naphthalene superplasticizer, one of the reasons is because polycarboxylates on price is not dominant. As the second largest raw material in polycarboxylates production, acrylic has a great impact on product prices. This article will look on the liquid waste of producing acrolein, which contain acrylic acid of low concentration. After analyzing the liquid waste is not feasible in the use of acrylic acid purification, discusses prepare polycarboxylates by using liquid waste theoretical feasibility.Acrolein waste as industrial waste liquid, having a composition diversity and the alterable characteristics of according to the production process. This article will use it as a raw material, its composition and properties were tested and determine its use have or not an impact to related parameters required by industry standards in the industry of polycarboxylates. We explore the influence of monomer mass ratio, the amount of initiator, the amount of chain transfer agent, reaction time and temperature to performance of polycarboxylates in the copolymerization reaction of polycarboxylates and get the best craft of polymerization synthesis.Useing GPC chromatograph and IR spectrograph to characterize the synthetic polycarboxylates. And we get the percent conversion of monomer and main functional groups. We maked a series of concrete tests with synthetic polycarboxylates and compared with made by pure acrylic commercially. We get that they have similar performance. The property and concrete performance of synthetic polycarboxylates meet the relevant standards. Finally, exploring the principles of producing polycarboxylates by liquid waste of producing acrolein. Usually in liquid acrylic acid concentration dropping to a certain concentration, the prepared product performance decreased. But liquid waste of producing acrolein as low concentrations of acrylic acid solution, which was prepared to the superplasticizer performance with commercially available superplasticizer little difference. By experiments and gel chromatography to explore and draw the relevant conclusions.
