In this paper, the research to be carried based on the shafting system of Low-speed Diesel Engine Power System. Mainly, focus on the reasons analysis of shafting bearing damage due to imperfection shafting alignment. New methods are applied for shafting alignment so that the problem could be pre-solved.In the first part of paper, it mentions that what is shafting alignment and the reason of error happed to be analyzed. Optimization method to be applied during shafting alignment as follow:(1) Using an equivalent circular bar to model of main engine crankshaft during shafting alignment calculation to improve the accuracy of the calculation.(2) Incorporating all engine bearings during shafting alignment calculation is necessary and it could improve the accuracy of the calculation as well.(3) The method of shaft stiffness matrix for determination of initial bearing offsets based on target bearing reaction forces.(4) Meaning of optimizing the location of intermediate shaft bearing and how to make it.(5) The influence of result of shafting alignment by hull deflection. The measurement of hull deflection and prediction of hull deflection by FEM.(6) The influence and method of final bearing offset measurement and confirmation of bearing reactions.Some instance is applied for help understanding in this paper as well. Hopefully, it could be the guidance for yard and the people who interest it.
