Along with the social prosperity and the economy development, the size and market of industrial vehicleindustry developed rapidly. Comparing with the increasing of the production, the research of technology fell behind. Due to the poor basic theory in our country,theanalogy designplayed a dominant role inproducts design, and mainly reference to the abroad early products.Meanwhile, old design with comparative,less application of computer design and less demonstration testing, the safety factor is too big and the weight of product is too heavy. On the one hand, it wastes material resources, and the production economy is bad; on the other hand,due to the large weight, it makes the poor fuel economy, which is not in conformity with the development trend of energy conservation and emissions reduction. The main research object of this paper is light-weight design for internal combustioncounter-balanced vehicle.Starting from analyzing investigation in the feature and the design calculating of the counter-balanced forklift trucks,the paper combined with the technical feature of the counter-balanced forklift trucks in this paper, to seek the key element and the principal contradiction in the lightweight design, to analyzethe conflicts among intensity, reliability, key performance, and cost, and to discuss the relationship between weight distribution and key performance. The mathematical modelwas set upby establishing the loading data model, analyzing the working parts stressed and considering with the performance requirement and the boundary conditions. For the sake of saving material, lowering the consumption level, and ensuring the safety and reliability of the trucks, the author discusses and studiesthe ways to realize the lightweight in design of the counter-balanced forklift.The paper selects a typical and effective lightweight method as study object.by changing the distribution of transmission ratio, the truck will recalculate the selection of transmission, adjust and optimizethe design of drive axle, and verify the structure to achieve the implement of lightweight of prototype thru the reduction of overhang front.In this process, it also realizes the analysis by use of finite element method (FEM) and the test bench reliability verification on the optimized axle casing. Meanwhile,the paper also gives the test verification and economic analysisof the optimizedwhole machine, to discuss the safety performance, reliability, economy of truck, and feasibility of plan.Based on the researches, the paper concludes and establishes the lightweight method and the evaluation system of the counter-balanced forklift trucks, to promoting the material saving, energy conservation and high performance of the counter-balanced forklift trucks.It will give a guide for the future lightweight work...
