Based on consulting a large amount of research material in domestic and foreign, on the basis of the existing hollow plank bridge computation theory,using the finite element analysis method to analyze the stress pattern of hinge joints in hinged hollow slab. The main research content is as follows:Summarizes the Calculation theory on the shearing force of hinged connection. Different forms of hinged connection’s shape on the hinged connection is analyzed in this article. In the case of considering the effect of new and old concrete bond strength, the impact strength of the hinge joints in hollow slab is analyzed of the reasons for damage. The result revealed that the effect of new and old concrete bond strength is an important reason that leads to hinged connection damage. The paper evaluated the participation of concrete paving layer in force in integrated structure and the effect of parameters of concrete paving layer on force in hinged connection.The failure modes of a hinged joint under different places of application to a vehicle load(middle load and bias load) are studied, such as the failure type, failure position and cracking load. Analysis results show that: no matter the load mode is, a hinged joint is destroyed earlier than a voided slab. Under the middle load, failure position is the interface between a voided slab and a hinged joint, and the failure type is bending failure. Under a bias load, the failure position is inside a hinged joint, and the failure type is shearing failure. Based on the comparison of middle load and bias load modes, the middle load is more disadvantageous for the hinged joint of an assembly voided slab bridge. At last, old bridge strengthening is also studied, three kinds of reinforcement scheme is proposed.The research of hollow plank girder bridge’s hinged joint failure mechanism and the reinforcement measures guides the current highway construction and the built of highway bridge maintenance has provided the theoretical basis and the technical support. The hinged joint crack production and the maintenance costs could have been decreased effectively, improve the mechanical performance and durability of the bridge, has a certain social and economic significance.
