With the development and utilization of underground space, the Tunnel Boring Machine(TBM) has gradually entered and occupied a place in Chinese market. TBM is a kind of hi-tech and mechatronics equipment which can construct the whole section tuneler. Nowadays, much has changed in domestic traffic environment and municipal construction, accordingly TBM has been widely applied.China possesses abundant resources, various categories of rocks and complex geological, which require higher on the endurance of digging machine, the degree of wear, bearing load and so on. However, in practical operation, the construction efficiency is closely connected with economic benefits directly, and it is the most important index value for construction companies.The analysis and study on the test results show that, the critical issue influencing the efficiency of TBM is hob cutter. Therefore, to improve the setting of hob cutter becomes one of the core goals of increasing its efficiency. In actual operation, once the tool system failures, the working time would be severely influenced as the efficiency reduced, and the cost would be increased as well. As a result, how to arrange the knife tool and how to choose the penetration are the key points in effecting the performance and stability of cutting tool system.Based on the studying on the references home and abroad, as well as the comprehensive understanding of the local and worldwide research status related, this paper analyzed deeply on the current situation of the development and application of shield machine. Additionally, combined with the experiment, the paper refers to the simulated the cutting process of double hob by using FEA software. The main research works are as follows:(1)This research analyzed the wear of disc cutter cause by the excavation during the analogue simulation. Find out the best angle of cutter ring blade according to the analysis of the cutter structure and other factors. Figure out the methods and proves to optimize the hob structure by studying on the connections between hob structure and hob wear.(2)Through the simulated process of double hob cutting by ANSYS, rock fragmentation process was observed, and the stress was analyzed. At the same time, by changing the cutter space and penetration degree, the best corresponding relation between penetration and optimal cutter spacing was found. The result of this study has significant meaning to optimize the Cutter layout and rock breaking efficiency improvement.(3)This research simulated the cutting process of a new double hob rock on comprehensive test platform, accordingly analyzed the disposition of the main components in responding to different stress and situations, as well as the vibration in different modalities. What’s more, by the utility of sample machine, this practical experiment analyzed the tool force, vibration and vibration of the supporting frame and effects of medium modes do to the text platform.Through the analysis of results, this paper studied thoroughly on the mechanism and the structure of hob cutting and has an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of the hobs. Accordingly, lays a solid foundation for the study of tunneling machine.
