Research On Exhibition Mode Development Of Architectural Heritage Since The Founding Of The PRC

The building heritage protection becomes more and more meaningful in modern China with people’s growing attention on cultural heritage protection. And, the traditional conception that protecting not being consistent with exhibition is departing away from people because of the developing of the theory on architectural heritage exhibition. So, this thesis takes " Exhibition Mode Development of Architectural Heritage in Beijign Since the Founding of the PRC " as the main research object. Meanwhile, the thesis is based on the typical case of exhibition since the concept of heritage appearance in China,related field research and documents has been collected since China joined CCPWCNH.The thesis also take the evolution of codes and regulation as important evaluation standards.The thesis is a review and summary of the development mode of architectural heritage exhibition in China. It researches the process of architectural heritage exhibition mode from the founding of the PRC until now. And it is based on the documents collection, field investigation and case studies.The methods which are often used in history researches, textual research, statistics and systems analysis are also adopted in this thesis.At first, based on social, economic, and cultural change that have been happening since 1949, and the values of architectural heritage had been worldly recognized. At the same time,the paper analyses the influence of the development of international architectural heritage exhibition theory on our country under the perspective of the evolution of international codes, regulations and globalization.Secondly, this thesis taking Beijing as an example. The background of the use of architectural heritage in China during the early years of the new nation is introduced in this paper. The architectural heritage exhibition practices appeared since the founding of PRC are also analyzed in this paper. A great proportion of exhibition modes that are being used right now can be seen in this paper,for example,the mode of park sites exhibition,industrial heritage exhibition,museum exhibition, the exhibition based on new museology theory and virtual architecture heritage exhibition. In this part, I summarize the developments and changes in different modes and the connection among them.Finally, this paper takes Datong Kiln Temple of Huainan architectural heritage exhibition design project as an example, application of research content. Summarized and thinking architectural heritage exhibition mode since the founding of PRC, including the changes of the value, the core of the exhibition, and analyses the development trend.Architectural heritage exhibition appeared in China at the beginning of twentieth century when the concept of heritage was first introduced to our country. In more than a century, it had experienced lots of difficulties. But today, the architectural heritage exhibition is back on its right track.The achievement can possibly be done without failures and the summary of practices. So, at the end of the paper,I summarize the characteristics and the current situation of the architectural heritage exhibition, study the transformation of heritage concepts since the founding of PRC and analyze the trend of China’s architectural heritage exhibition in the future. Takes Datong Kiln Temple of Huainan architectural heritage exhibition as an example, practice and reflections the design project.
