In order to meet the needs of the traffic development of modern society, the bridge engineers constantly challenge greater span and higher difficulties, they’ve got lots of innovations and technological progress. One of the representative results is the development of the Steel-Concrete Composite Bridge, it has gradually matured and being one of the most important direction of bridge engineering.The Steel-Concrete Composite Bridges are made of two main materials: steel and concrete, as we all know that they are totally different on the material properties. For the bridges that usually exposed to the atmosphere as work, the two materials are directly affected by the environment and the climate change. Especially when the ambient temperature changes severely, due to the different speeds of the temperature change the temperature difference must be caused between steel and concrete. Different sizing deformation will lead to the internal stress on the girder section of the Steel-Concrete Composite Bridge, which will have a huge impact on the structure force performance, durability and usability. There are roles about the temperature effect in the national design codes of different countries, but these provisions are very different, and have kind of difference with the real temperature distribution of the Steel-Concrete Composite Bridge. To solve these problems, this article has studied from the following aspects:Through the large number of relevant documents analyzed, we’ll introduce the development history and the status of the Steel-Concrete Composite Bridge in system, and the mechanical characteristics of the Steel-Concrete Composite Bridge will be analyzed and summarized.We’ll give a detailed analysis about the formation, classification and characteristics of the temperature effect. And a compasion of the analysis on the existing calculation methods of the temperature field and temperature stress. Focus on explaining the simplified calculation method of the temperature field of the Steel-Concrete Composite Bridge, the finite element solution principles and process of the temperature stress.Through real bridge temperature field observations, which is obtained by a typical steel- concrete composite bridge located in Beijing. Based on the analysis of the data, we summarize the distribution of the temperature field of this bridge.Using finite element analysis method to establish a bridge model which is similar with the bridge that we’ve observed. Then run the model system to get the effect of 3 different ways of the temperature field: Code for Design of Steel and Concrete Composite Bridges(GB50917-2013), BS5400 and the real data we’ve observed. The analysis will be done from 3 aspects: the stress of the structure, the support reaction force and the displacement of the bridge.
