The light-weight, high-stiffness, great-damping composite panel with high carrying capacity has a broad application prospect in high technical fields such as the aviation, aerospace and high-speed trains etc. So in this paper a new composite instrument panel structure consist of five-layer sandwichs and multiple damping thin-films were designed in detail. The novel manufacturing technology of this panel was presented by curing for several times in autoclave. And the statics and dynamic characteristics are investigated so as to lay a solid foundation for the further study of the design theory and manufacturing technology for lightweight precision composite panel. The main innovations are listed as the following.(1)Embedded co-cured damping material was introduced to the structure design of composite panel in order to solve the problem that the stiffness and damping property of the traditional composite panel was insufficient. A new type of five-layers sandwich composite panel were presented in detail.(2)The statics and dynamic characteristics of the two specific composite panel structures was studied by ANSYS sofeware. The simulation results are compared with experiment data and results are identical so that can prove the effectiveness of the numerical simulation model and method in this paper(3)In order to fabricate this large damping and high stiffness composite panel, the novel manufacturing technology of this panel was developed by curing for several times in autoclave. The process parameters of each process was determined.(4)Have static loading test,centrifuge test and modal test of composite panel. The fixtures of static loading test and modal test were designed. That all can lay a solid foundation for the numerical simulation and design method of composite panel.
