With the rapid development of the electrified railway construction, railway transportation productivity layout adjusted, and the increasing construction of passenger railway line in our country in recent years, the important position of the traction power supply system is increased significantly in the national railway transportation production, which makes traction power supply design more and more important in the traction power supply system. It not only directly affects the investment of construction project, but also affects the quality of traction power supply and the benefit of operating economy. Therefore, it presents an important significance to choose the reasonable calculation method, determine the power supply scheme and estimate the calculation result.Based on the method of "average traffic", "train running method" and "probability statistics", the electrified railway traction power supply is designed and calculated, which is compared with measured data. The electrified railway traction power supply is calculated in different working conditions to find out a engineering calculation method which is suitable for their own characteristics. In this way, the results become more realistic.Due to the particularity of passenger railway line, the calculation method which is suitable for railway traction power supply design can not adapt to the need of passenger railway traction power supply calculation. Based on the mature traction power supply system calculation all over the world, the railway traction power supply calculation method which is suitable for passenger railway line is studied. According to the data analysis, it is proved that the method is practical.
